Essay Topic Ideas For Middle School Students
Essay Topic Ideas For Middle School StudentsIt's not often that you see students struggling to come up with essay topics for their college essays, but there are some essays where they seem to have a problem. At least one student is out of practice on the essay topic and still in need of a refresher on essay writing.Well, don't worry, because there are still plenty of essays where the topics seem a bit familiar, and no, it's not the same essay you're having problems with. These 6th graders need to come up with essay topics that are going to be slightly different from the rest of the class, but still using common 6th grade world problems. So how do you write an essay on topics that are similar to the topics you've done before? One way to do this is to simply change the amount of time that the topic is written in. This way if the problems you used were about the daycare program your child attends, and you wrote your essay about the week's events leading up to it, you can just change the time frame to the past week. This doesn't mean you should rewrite everything for your essay. You should, but by doing so you can still get the student to come up with a few different topics.Another idea is to read one of the topics they are reviewing from their book or something, and write down as much as you can remember from it. Then take the first two paragraphs and write a short essay on that topic, bringing some of the important points from the essay back up for your students to see.You can even make the middle school students work on this after the reading has ended, as many middle school students tend to study very well when they are sitting in a quiet room. You can then ask them to write a longer essay on the topics that they remembered from the middle school reading.By being creative and using what they've learned from last year, they will be able to come up with essays that use very different problems and can show some new ideas. In fact, if you ask the students to write so mething on these themes, they might surprise you and come up with some unique essays that have nothing to do with anything you have seen before. The same concepts should be used in this situation, but the middle school students will be more familiar with some of the ideas and so will have more trouble coming up with completely new essays. It's up to you to pick a new topic for them to tackle.
